The Historic Trading Post Museum preserves the rich history of East New Market, one of Dorchester County’s oldest communities. The town first appeared on maps around 1660 and became an important trading center for the surrounding region. Built around 1840, the Trading Post building serves as a lasting reminder of the town’s early commercial roots and its development through the 18th and 19th centuries.

Restored and repurposed as a community meeting place and museum, the Historic Trading Post now houses artifacts and exhibits celebrating East New Market’s heritage.
