The Town of East New Market Mayor and Council recently hosted a wonderful luncheon at the Depot for our citizens. As Mayor, I wanted everyone in the Depot area to know they are an important part of our community — we are one town, working together.

The afternoon was filled with good food, music, fellowship, and most importantly, meaningful conversation. I truly enjoyed hearing about the history of the Depot area as well as learning more about the concerns, needs, and ideas residents have for the future of our town.

I encouraged everyone to become involved by attending our monthly Town Council meetings and community events. It was great to see strong support from Council members Sam Yockey and Valencia Stagg, who attended the luncheon. Councilman Mike Sisson was unable to attend as he was helping at his new downtown business, Nordic Cottage.

We had an excellent turnout, and we hope to make this luncheon an annual event that continues to bring our community together.
