Mayor’s Newsletter

May 2026

The weather has certainly been up and down, but warmer days are on the way—and with that comes a very active and exciting time here in East New Market.

The Mayor and Council will be presenting the first reading of the FY 2027–2028 budget at our May 12th Council Meeting. Following the first reading, the budget will be advertised for public review, with the final reading and vote scheduled for our June meeting.

Within the capital budget, we have included major cleaning and culvert replacement in the Sugar Drive area, a much-needed improvement.

Our new website is now live: www.townofeastnewmarket.com

All sidewalks have been sprayed and will be monitored monthly. As a reminder, property owners are responsible for maintaining the grass area between the sidewalk and the street.

During the month of May, the Town will be providing a dumpster at the Town Hall parking lot for use by town residents only. This is to assist with spring cleaning and household cleanup.

Kindness & Community Thanks
From Faith Carroll:
“Thank you to Paul Kowalski and family for their kindness and help.”
“Thank you to Ms. Tina, our Postmaster, for always going the extra mile with a smile.”

In a world of negativity, let’s take time to thank those who show kindness—it truly means a lot.
