- Property Violations and Enforcement
Buckland Property
The Commission discussed the current status of the Buckland property, noting that the property was sold at auction in February and is currently pending court ratification. It was stated that the ratification process may take between 30 and 90 days.Discussion included recent communication from Senator Mautz to the property attorney and ongoing coordination with the Town’s legal counsel. The Commission emphasized the importance of maintaining communication with the new ownership once ratification is complete.The Commission agreed that upon ratification, the Town will provide the new owner an opportunity to demonstrate good faith efforts toward stabilization and compliance. If no progress is made within a reasonable timeframe, enforcement actions will be initiated, including fines of up to $1,000 per day in accordance with Town ordinance.Direction / Action

38 Main Street (Former Mike’s Tavern)
The new owner presented plans for the rehabilitation of the former Mike’s Tavern building. The proposed scope of work includes structural stabilization, roof replacement, and exterior improvements.Discussion included the building’s historical use and its importance to the Town’s character.
