“April Showers Bring May Flowers”
Spring is here, and with it comes a season of growth, activity, and community spirit in the Town of East New Market.
The Events Committee will be celebrating Easter this Saturday, April 4th at 10:00 AM at Friendship Park. The morning will feature an Easter egg hunt along with other fun activities for families. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy this special community event.
The Town will be conducting a smoke test the week of April 20th. This important process helps identify leaks and inefficiencies in our sewer system, which ultimately reduces the cost of sewage treatment. Additional details will be provided prior to testing.
We are excited to announce that our new town website will be launching early April. This site will be a dynamic resource for residents, with frequent updates, announcements, and important town information.
The Events Committee has also formed a fundraising subcommittee, which will focus on supporting and expanding our community events. We appreciate their initiative and dedication.
Work continues on finalizing the electric service at Friendship Park, and we are actively planning a Fourth of July parade to be held in the park as part of our 250th Anniversary celebration. We are currently looking for participants and floats—please contact Town Hall if you are interested in being involved.
Looking ahead to May, the Town will once again provide a community dumpster in the Town Hall parking lot for residents. This has been a very successful and appreciated service, and we are pleased to offer it again.
In closing, I would like to thank all of our hardworking committee members and volunteers. Your dedication continues to make a meaningful impact on our town. I hope everyone is pleased with the progress we are making together.
Sincerely,
Mayor Gary Lucks
